Open play means that all players, of any skill level, are invited to play on the courts for a set time frame (8-12 in this case). Most pickleball venues have open play, as it allows players to come and go never having to actually set up games—or know anyone for that matter. Some venues have courts dedicated to “aggressive” or “competitive” and “non-aggressive” or “beginner” and “advanced” players. This grouping really helps the new players find comfort in getting out there. The comfort of playing with “like” players of similar skill and speed lends itself to a fun and more enjoyable experience.
The disadvantage of Open Play is often the large number of players that show up. For example, 60 players for three courts means very little playtime, as everyone rotates after one game. Particularly frustrating is when court time is restricted.
Our programming will support pickleball at all levels from ages 7 thru 19. We will be focusing on several initiatives, which will include juniors web page, increased use of social media, developing educational materials, creating kid networking opportunities, public awareness, and growing pickleball among our community’s youth.
Veteran & First Responder Programs

Active in the local Veteran community through United Way’s Mission United and the Sarasota Military Officers Association [MOAA],the Club is committed to developing recreational programs exclusively for our Veterans and first responders with disabilities. Our Veteran and first responders have given so much for the love of our Nation and community, we want them to feel the love in return from so many of us that share our love of pickleball.
